TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
August 10, 2009
1. CALL TO ORDER.
Chairman Nelson Hinz called the August 10, 2009 meeting to order at
7:30 p.m. at the Utica Town Hall. Nelson Hinz, Chairman, Kathy
Paschke, Supervisor #1, Frederick Marohn, Supervisor #2, Betty
Messerschmidt, Treasurer and Jack Clarke, Clerk were present. 21
citizens were in the audience.
2. APPROVAL OF JULY 13, 2009 MINUTES.
The minutes of the July 13, 2009 meeting were reviewed. Supervisor
Marohn made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Paschke, to accept the
minutes. Carried.
3. APPROVAL OF JULY 27, 2009 MINUTES.
The minutes of the July 27, 2009 meeting were reviewed. Supervisor
Paschke made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marohn, to accept the
minutes. Carried.
4. TREASURER’S REPORT.
Treasurer Messerschmidt read the Treasurer’s report. Receipts were
$44,909.01. Disbursements were $29,089.39. Check book balance is
$105834.32. Supervisor Marohn made a motion, seconded by Supervisor
Paschke, to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Carried.
5. ADOPT AGENDA.
Chairman Hinz read the Agenda for the meeting.
6. PUBLIC FORUM.
No Comments
7. APPOINT A PERSON TO FILL THE OPEN CLERK POSITION.
Chairman Hinz made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Paschke, to
appoint Brenda Morrell to the position of Town of Utica Clerk, to fill
the remaining term of office, beginning October 1, 2009 and ending in
April 2011. Carried.
8. WINNEBAGO COUNTY MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR 2010
Supervisor Paschke made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marohn, to
enter in to a contract with Winnebago County for the performance of
certain highway-related maintenance work during calendar year 2010.
Carried.
1. REPORTS:
1. Board of Appeals.
No activity.
2. Fire Department.
Chief Hunter shared that the Fire Department will be offering a CPR
class this fall to our residents. The Department will advertise in
the PCC newsletter.
The annual Fireman’s Picnic will be August 30, 2009.
3. Plan Commission.
No activity
4. Educational Opportunities.
· WTA Fall Budget & Finance Workshop, Sept. 2, 2009 at Royal Ridges,
Ripon WI.
Supervisor Marohn made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Paschke, to
send the following persons: Nelson Hinz, Kathy Paschke, Frederick
Marohn, Betty Messerschmidt, and Brenda Morrell to the workshop.
Carried.
· WTA Annual Convention, Oct 11-14, 2009 at Stevens Point, WI.
Tabled to the September 14, 2009 meeting.
7. CORRESPONDENCE.
Clerk Clarke shared a letter from Veolia Environmental Services
regarding fee increases due to tipping fees as a part of the State
Budget.
8. PAYMENT OF BILLS.
Supervisor Marohn made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Paschke, to
pay the bills. Carried.
9. ADJOURNMENT.
Supervisor Marohn made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Paschke, to
adjourn. Carried.
