TOWN OF UTICA TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES October 13, 2008 1. CALL TO ORDER. The October 13, 2008 meeting was called to order by Chairman Nelson Hinz at 7:30 PM at the Utica Town Hall. Nelson Hinz, Chairman; Kathy Paschke, Supervisor #1; Frederick Marohn, Supervisor #2, Betty Messerschmidt, Treasurer and Jack Clarke, Clerk were present. 11 Citizens were in the audience. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES. The minutes of the September 8, 2008 meeting were reviewed. Supervisor Marohn made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Paschke, to accept the minutes as presented. Carried. 3. TREASURER’S REPORT. Treasurer Messerschmidt read the Treasurer’s report. Receipts were $25.33. Disbursements were $39,089.95. The check book balance is $59,176.50. Supervisor Paschke made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marohn, to accept the Treasurer’s Report as presented. Carried. 4. ADOPT AGENDA. Chairman Hinz read the Agenda for the meeting. 5. PUBLIC FORUM. • Julius Beregszazi, representing Pioneer Cleaning, Inc. presented a proposal that would change the Town Hall cleaning charge from $130.00 per month to $160.00 per month beginning in January 2009. • A question was asked as to what a culvert installation costs. 6. SALE OF FIRE TRUCK. • 1964 Pirsch First Line Engine. - Supervisor Marohn made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Paschke to relist the vehicle on EBay with an asking price of $2,500.00. Carried. • 1982 Tanker. - Supervisor Paschke made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marohn to list the vehicle on EBay with an asking price of $2,600.00 with the understanding that it will also be offered locally. Carried. 7. FRANK INSPECTION REGARDING INSPECTING BRIDGES IN THE TOWN. Supervisor Marohn made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Paschke, to contract with Frank Inspection to inspect 4 bridges in the town and consult on road conditions at a rate of $25.00 per hour for calendar years 2008 and 2009. Carried. 8. AMBULANCE CONTRACT. Clerk Clarke shared the proposed ambulance contract presented by City of Oshkosh Fire Chief, Tim Franz. Supervisor Marohn made a motion, seconded by Chairman Hinz, to support the contract as presented at the Omro Fire Department meeting on September 9, 2008, if adopted by the City of Oshkosh at its Common Counsel meeting on October 14, 2008. 9. BUDGET. • Board workshop will be held at 7:00 PM, October 27, 2008. • Public hearing to be held at 6:30 PM, November 10, 2008. 10. REPORTS: 1. Board of Appeals. None. 2. Fire Department. Chief Hunter shared that the new tanker will arrive on Thursday, October 16, 2008. 3. Plan Commission. Supervisor Marohn shared information that took place at the Plan Commission workshop. 4. Educational Opportunities. None. 11. CORRESPONDENCE Treasurer Messerschmidt received a letter from Horton Insurance regarding a Tax Collection Bond. 12. PAYMENT OF BILLS Supervisor Paschke made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marohn, to pay the bills. Carried. 16. ADJOURNMENT Supervisor Paschke made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Marohn, to adjourn. Carried.
